3DXMURDERS hosts companion case files for murder mystery games played elsewhere. This page explains what the site stores, why, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past.
When you open a case file and join as an investigator, the site stores:
That is the entire list. No real names, no email addresses, no payment details, no location data, no advertising or analytics trackers, and no third-party cookies.
Hosts who build cases have an account with an email address and password. The email is only used to sign in and does not need to be a real inbox. We store the cases you create and the media you upload to them.
The site sets a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to work at all: one to remember which investigator you are on a given case, one to remember what you have unlocked, and one to keep hosts signed in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
The host running your case can see the investigator names, unlock progress, notes and verdicts for that case. Hosts cannot see cases belonging to other hosts. The site administrator can see all cases for support and moderation purposes.
Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or any other third party.
Data is held by Supabase, and the site is served by Netlify. Both are established infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf.
Player data — nicknames, unlock history, notes and verdicts — is kept while a case is in use and routinely cleared afterwards. Hosts can wipe all player data for a case at any time, and typically do so between sessions. Cases themselves are kept until their host deletes them.
You can ask for a copy of anything held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In practice the fastest route is to ask your host, who can clear a case's player data immediately. For anything else, contact the site administrator through the community where your game is being run.
If you are in the UK or EU and believe your data has been handled improperly, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children. Please do not use it if you are under 18.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be flagged to hosts.
